Subject: Sharepoint use?
If your institution is using MS Sharepoint:
A) What are you doing with it? (How does it fit into your College/Univ=
ersity's operational communications?) SCSU uses Sharepoint (2010 now) for m=
ainly collaboration and team type activities. We also use it (2007 going t=
o 2010) for displaying Business Intelligence related activities. We are e=
valuating potential use as a student or employee portal.
B) Are you using it fully integrated with AD for security/access contr=
ol or do you have it set up with its own security? Fully integrated with A=
D and using AD group membership to control authorization. By using AD gr=
oups, I can easily audit access rights from the center of our Identity syst=
em rather than having to go directly to SharePoint.
C) What FTE staffing does it have? (How much Administrative time does=
it require for your institution?) We have one FTE assigned to SharePoint
Note:
If possible, I'd advise the 2010 version over 2007 if you can.
