We did not have the problem with Outlook, under our SLA it is unsupported on our campus. the NEW (v2.0) zimbra client is outstanding, and feature rich.

Hey,
We just moved away from Zimbra after using it for several years. We're using Google Apps now. The biggest issues that we had involved using the Outlook Connector. For those people using only Zimbra on the web, it mostly worked just fine, but the connector constantly broke, required updates, lost appointments, messed up calendar data, had 'known issues' that the Zimbra people were working on, etc.
I won't say it was a disaster, because for the web-only group (like our 3200 students), it worked fine for the most part. But the outlook connector was a definite problem child right from the beginning.
With Google Apps, we've limited our faculty and staff to web-only if they want to do calendaring - so far, so good.

Brian,
we moved from webmail to Zimbra a little over a year ago...we as a cluster with some on VM but the mailboxes reside physical... we really have seen NO problems. Faculty Staff and students equal about 2200 mailboxes and we are bringing up the open source version for retirees and alumni that will all be on VMware, should be well 5K mailboxes.
let me know if you have specific problems..
