Is anyone using the iPad with the Apple TV? I am hearing rumors on my
campus that this might be the big, up and coming thing. However, as an
802.1x wireless university, I find the Apple TV collaboration with Airplay
not workable and I'm thinking we will need a potential secondary wireless
network just to accommodate iPad/Apple TV presentations/collaborations in
the classroom. This seems cumbersome to the users and not at all
security-friendly.
Any other ideas are more than welcome,

A word of advice, if you do end up supporting iPads set up the "Find My
iPad" feature. A professor had her personal iPad stolen and that was not
set up before hand. She had set up the Apple mail application and the
thief didn't know so we were able to see what IP address it had but it
never helped us retrieve it. Within a day it went from Massachusetts to
New York city and our Public Safety officers worked with some police in
that area but I think it came down to not wanting to waste several man
hours to track down something that costs that much.

person leaves, they need to return it or make arrangements with their
department/lab if they want to keep it - same as for cell phones.

All are invited to come including those that do not have anything yet and
are looking to buy something. I will have ipads, ipod touch, android
galaxy tablet, kindle, nook etc there and encouraging others to bring what
they have and discuss the devices.
