That's an excellent list and it gives a broad and useful overview of the
field.
We have encountered this question for video surveillance cameras. Some
are WPA-personal only (Axis 207W). Others do both (Cisco $$). It would
be nice to drop a camera anywhere we have coverage without also needing
to deal with infrastructure.
The official answer is that this information is available from the WiFi
Alliance
on their web page. So, for example, see the iPhone 4 that can do either:
http://certifications.wi-fi.org/pdf_certificate.php?cid=WFA10113
You'll note that this includes 802.1x supported flavors (EAP types) as
well.
Without matching EAP types between the device and your system, whether
you have Enterprise or not won't matter.
