We run KeyAccess from VMWare and like Tony our only issue is when a vendor supplies a USB dongle for the license. Since we also have a KeyShadow server the USB dongle is only valid when the primary KeyServer is up as the dongle cannot be attached to both simultaneously. Also in order to connect the USB dongles to the VM and that it stayed assigned correctly to the VM should it move to a different server we purchased a Ethernet to USB bridge and assign that usb port the the VM.

We also have a FLexLM license server but I am not familiar with its configuration.
