I would stick on C6500 as well, considering it's been widely deployed and still have quite life left on it, might be another decade at most. 


For Nexus, I am really not sure, at least I would risk to consider it as next gen for our core/distribution switches.

L3 on the Nexus is still relatively new.. the 6500 platform has some life left in it.. I would stick with it for this round as a core routing platform. If this is a "core" in the old 3 tier sense (switching, no routing) then the Nexus makes sense and will continue to over time.

I can't really plug a nexus in where my 6500s are yet - too many missing line cards - 100 mbps fx, nam & fwsm - so I'm not at all sure where I'll go - I'm even considering staying with the 6Ks for a while longer still...
