Hello. I am the resnet coord. at Alpha Epsilon Pi, and I was
wondering if any other ILGs out there have tackled the problem of hooking up
two separate houses together on the ethernet. We have two houses here at
Aepi. Our final goal is to get both of them up on MITnet, but of course,
only one of them has a feed. What we want to do is hookup somehow the other
house to the feed. We already have wired up one house for ethernet (10
base-T), and I am actually using it at this moment.

I am looking for strategies, costs, difficulties, and methods of
hooking up both houses. I am thinking of fiber optics or wireless lan at
this moment. I understand that there is some difficulty (read:
impossibility) in hooking up the two houses via coax. I am not sure if this
is completely true.

Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thanx much,
Ronald Schmelzer
