Actually, we do that. Although I could tell you about it, why not come to
my session at RESNET '02 - SuNY, Buffalo - June 28 thru July 2
(http://resnet2002.buffalo.edu/)? Once the committee releases the
information, you can see specific date and time.
But, we do 'force' students to use DHCP and register - if they don't have
DHCP setup - they can only work within the local 10. net and the only
website they can go to is our registration page. It actually works!

It seems most of the registration process is done if everyone plays along
nicely with your registration systems. If a user picks an IP out of the
blue and statically assigns it to their machine, how do you prevent them
from gaining net access until they register?
