I'm looking to see how you guys handle resident student expectation of
your student tech support staff (at SUNY Oneonta, we call them Res
Techs). I have found that if some kind of expectation management
(telling the students in the dorms what to expect from the techs) is not
done, the residents tend to expect the techs to be able to perform
advanced troubleshooting. This may affect satisfaction with the
program, if this is not, in fact what the department expects from the
students. I was wondering the following:

=20

What level of service you expect your techs to provide (basic
troubleshooting, advanced troubleshooting, don't touch the computer at
all....)
What do you tell the residents in your dorms to expect from your
techs.....

How do you communicate this to the students so that expectations are as
effectively communicated as possible......

=20

Thanks
