I also am always on the lookout for inexpensive tools for our helpdesk. I
thought this device would be great, but I did not read all of the
documentation first. It only works for a 10BaseT network. It will identify a
100BaseT network, but the tests will not run. So if you are testing only a
10BaseT network it is a good tool.

If you have a little more money the Fluke Nettool is great.
