No, it's not a hoax. The article was based on documents filed with the U.S. SEC and an interview with the company's CEO.

John,  We heard it was, but the National ResNet Support list is going nuts over it like it is true.  Please say it is a hoax on the cnet.com site, if it is.  If it is not a hoax, please let me know so we can be prepared on university campuses.
