In regard to liability issues from your message below:
At Wellesley we do software installs on student machines, but DO NOT allow
our student consultants to install cards. We too were concerned about the
liability issues of opening machines etc. Students may have their cards
installed by our technician through the computer store if they desire for a
small charge. If they purchase the card from us, the install is free.
As far as the software installs we have no waiver form and have had no
problems. At this point we install only Macs on the network and use
servers to drag down most of the necessary stuff with excellent
documentation and our students do a terrific job.
