As I look forward to the upcoming conference, I was reflecting on this past
conference and reviewing the survey results. When asked if attendees would
recommend the conference, 54 out of 55 survey respondents said they would
recommend the conference to others. I think it=E2=80=99s noteworthy that th=
e one
who did not respond in the affirmative was attending his or her first
conference and did not choose to stay in the residence hall:)

When asked what attendees liked about the conference, most people responded
that they enjoyed sharing ideas, networking, the content, and the casual
atmosphere of the conference. The camaraderie is strong in this group, but
this conference is not just a social club. As one respondent put it, =E2=80=
=9CThe
tight-knit feel between attendees, making for phenomenal networking.=E2=80=
=9D

Here are some other things people liked about the conference:

   - Networking, talking to others to get an idea of emerging trends.
   - Meeting other people with the same problems and exchanging ideas about
   how to solve them.
   - The seminars on student hiring and team building.
   - The friendly nature of the attendees; the approachability of the
conference, its subject matter, and the presenters. This is the least
stuffy conference I've ever attended, and that really enabled my learnin=
g
and growing as a result of being in a friendly and approachable environm=
ent.
   - The sessions were very practical and gave me good ideas.
   - Great ideas from other organizations and universities, discussions
   during sessions, fun group activities.
   - I enjoyed collaborating with representatives from other schools on
different workflows and procedures, especially the working with/managing
   students aspect
   - I love attending sessions and hearing an idea and running with it to
make adjustments for my institution... sometimes I can plan an entire
training session or network change based on what may have been a minor
   comment or thought.
   - Being with others in the same industry and collaborating ideas and
what works and what doesn't for others.
   - Building relationships with peers, sharing stories and hearing
successes and failures, benchmarking against other campuses.
   - I always like how laid back it is and not so formal in attire, etc.
The smaller size (under 300) makes it easy to network and get to know
people and the fact that there are always people that return each year, =
you
make new friends and develop lasting relationships.
   - Don't miss out on the early registration; sign up to attend the 2017
   Student Technology Conference at http://resnetstc.org/2017/registration/
   today!
