Are you interested in presenting at this year's Student Technology
Conference but having trouble coming up with a presentation idea? Perhaps
you'd like that presenter discount:)

There are several great ideas among the post-conference survey results from
last year, and the Slack channel has been active in this respect. I
encourage you to browse through the following list and choose one or more
and submit it for your own presentation
<http://resnetstc.org/2017/get-involved>. Don=E2=80=99t forget that there a=
re
several presentation styles available, and you can always find someone to
work with you if you would like help.

*Leadership and Management*

   - Student employee recruitment, leadership, management, and training
   - What to do after students are trained; what is done to keep them
engaged in their jobs (including projects with students - rather than ju=
st
   managing them)
   - Establishing policies (formal or informal) for processes and
   acceptable behavior and/or handbooks
   - How to excel as or become an IT manager
   - Communication focused - marketing services/support to students, social
   media, etc.
   - Millennial speak/communication
   - Implementing ITIL-friendly processes
   - Data management
   - Reporting Tools and Interpreting Results
   - Working within constraints of budgets (when you have no control)

*Network Technology*

   - Wireless upgrades (panel discussion?)
   - Wireless networking and troubleshooting
   - Networking basics
   - Handling guest NAC registrations

*Support Services and Cool Tools*

   - Troubleshooting student devices
   - Copyright violation processing/education
   - Software and specific steps for implementation
   - How to tackle the old password management problem
   - Which channels to use for offering support: web portal,
email-to-ticket, chat, text, phone, and social media
   - Technical session: personal device support
   - Optimizing Service Desk Workflow
   - Managing software license agreements
   - Tools for managing shift schedules, project management, and CRM=E2=80=
=99s
   - Help Desk areas for hours of operation, what's working, what isn't
   - Tech tools and other detailed presentations on hardware and repair
   (esp. in a mixed environment)

*Emerging Technologies*

   - How you proactively or reactively enforce cyber security on your campu=
s
   - Apple deployment practices
   - Fix for the Apple TV and Airplay problem on the network
   - Are there trends that may point to the labs being used more for
printing than computing? If so, how do you transition?
   - Mobile Apps - creating one for your university

*Current Computing Technology*

   - Screencasting/sharing technologies & best practices
   - How Office 365 or Google Apps/G Suite is used by students/staff
   - Using VDI / RDP for kiosks and guests
