Currently, we are using a written form. I beleive they are working on making it digital for the 2017-18 school year. I cannot elaborate on it much, because it is not in-place, but I believe they are making it part of the process prior to their arrival, around the same time they obtain health records for incoming freshman. I think this is being done in order to make everything as simple as possible for incoming students, including our capacity to communicate with them. They are really trying to make registration as efficient as possible.

As for the last question, I would say that we do as much as we can to ensure that students cannot inadvertently violate the policies in-place (downloading copyrighted media, etc.). However, for things like students plugging in rogue wireless access points, we cannot really enforce those things until they violate those policies. I know there are schools out there that go as far as ensuring compliance with anti-virus that is up-to-date, and such, but we do not go that far.

Again, we are a really small college, less than a thousand students across two campuses.

In terms of tracking compliance, we are small enough that it is handled through out ticketing system, should a student violate the policy in a manner that brings it to our attention. On several occasions we have had to forward cases to the Assistant Dean who is responsible for Student Services, but do not taking any action beyond disabling accounts or network access in a room.
