Hi Justin,

Thank you for sharing.  When students sign initially, is it written or digital?  If the latter, can you elaborate on what that looks like and involves?  In your case, it sounds like enforcement does not come into play until after an incident occurs.  Do I understand you correctly?

We have a network use policy that is part of the student handbook, but we require the students sign that they have read and will abide by the network use policy as part of the registration proess.  In terms of tracking compliance, we are small enough that it is handled through out ticketing system, should a student violate the policy in a manner that brings it to our attention.  On several occasions we have had to forward cases to the Assistant Dean who is responsible for Student Services, but do not taking any action beyond disabling accounts or network access in a room.
