Andrew,
We have been using Aruba wireless with multicast IPTV for many years. In fact, we initially helped them test & perfect their "dynamic multicast optimization". We use different systems for wired & IPTV - Cisco for wired & Haivision Furnace for IPTV.
One key for wired & wireless is proper network QoS design. Depending on what version of ArubaOS, your network may need to support IGMPv3 (6.4+). In our testing, we had some issues with some IGMPv2 clients on 6.4 when the network only supported IGMPv2. Moving the network support to IGMPv3 resolved those issues and we have been running this for over a year.
Feel free to contact me & my team off-list for further help. We had some excellent support from Aruba's ACE team in resolving our testing issues with 6.4. In fact, Aruba approached us for this testing to determine whether we would have an issue.
You may also want to reach out to your vendor account & support teams for help.
Best regards,

Subject: Swank digital streaming buffering
Hi all,
Providence College offers Swank digital streaming services through our library and our Faculty have already requested and assigned films from this platform. We are starting to field complaints from students with regard to buffering/slowness. In our testing over wired and wireless (including multiple wireless roles), we have not been able to replicate to issue. We are still gathering reports but it appears to happen at a variety of hours throughout the day and evening. At the moment, we believe it to be wireless specific but some students aren't not getting back to our requests.
We are using Aruba products for our wireless solution and Enterasys for our wired infrastructure.
I am wondering if anyone has had similar issues with Swank on their campus and could provide any feedback. In the meantime, we will continue to investigate the issue.
Thank you,
Andrew Manchester
