This past summer we networked one of our dorms as a prototype. We included
Cable TV in this dorm. We are trying to decide whether we should
include Cable TV connections in future dorm wirings and how it should be
paid for.

We have several questions to which we would appreciate having answers.

Cable-TV Questions

1.) Are you now providing Cable-TV Service to individual rooms in your
     residence halls?

If so:

A.) How much of the cost of installing conduit and wiring did the
          Cable TV Company pay for?

B.) Do students pay standard subscription rates, or did your college/
university make special arrangements for rates? Please explain.

C.) Did the Cable TV company contribute to the cost of data networking
          in any way? Please explain.

Please send your responses to celliot@ocvaxa.cc.oberlin.edu. I will compile
the answers and post them to the ResNet Forum.

Thanks

Elliot Jolesch
