Perhaps a little outside the "net" part of RESNET, but I'm hoping to get some pointers here.

We're once again considering electronic door locks on our campus. Initially we'd probably start with exterior doors, then move to individual dorm rooms and classrooms. I'm looking for any feedback on:

 - Vendors you like

 - Vendors you hate

 - Network issues to be aware of (wireless or PoE)

 - Other things to watch out for or questions to ask the vendors

We're looking into Persona and Locknetics, but happy to hear about anyone else as this is outside my usual area.

We'll most likely use RFID cards that can also be used as student ID cards.

We're considering hard-wired door locks for the exterior doors, and wireless for interior (mainly for cost reasons when retrofitting existing doors).

As the IT guy, I'd love to hear about management, integration with existing directory systems, scripting, etc.

Thanks so much,

Jason
