Hey All,
Here at Miami, we've recently seen an uptick in calls from students on our
residential network who are unable to play some online games. Most notably,
a change at the beginning of March to League of Legends has prevented
students on our network from connecting to the game. Some investigation has
revealed that the game is now being picked up by our TippingPoint units as
BitTorrent traffic and blocked, as we have a strict no peer-to-peer policy
on campus. At first we thought it was just the patcher being blocked, but
even after successfully patching, it appears to be blocking the game
itself.
I was just wondering if anyone out there has run into similar issues, and
if so, what sort of solutions you've reached?
Thanks,
Tim Ward
