I would highly recommend test driving it for a while first. We have seen a myriad of very poorly written drivers, from graphics cards, to wireless cards, to sound cards for Windows 8. That's something that should be improving as time goes on, but still a warning for lackluster support down the road. As far as Windows 8 goes, wireless and graphics are two of the most crucial and the most buggy from what I have seen.

Subject: Windows 8 and hardware

My department at Princeton makes laptops available for students to purchase. We create a Princeton specific software image that comes installed on each laptop.

We're moving to Windows 8 for 2013-14 and are interested in what hardware others are recommending, making available to purchase, or providing to students for the W8. Is anyone offering a non-touch screen model with W8?

Thank you,
