Hi Wendy,
These are policies that specific ISPs negotiated with copyright holders. Since
we are our own ISP, we are not bound by these. However, we are bound by HEOA,
so we've already had some similar policies/practises in place which some would
consider to be more strict than this new "alert system."
If you subscribe to one of these ISPs for personal use, then this will affect
you (if you're detected participating in illegal file sharing), but if your ISP
is not listed, then they likely have their own set of policies in place
regarding how they handle take down notices.
In other words, this is all about consumer networks, not educational networks.
