Hi All:
Fordham is currently looking into modifying it's Portal/Email account
claiming process for students.
I am looking for some feedback on how your institutions get this
information to your students and/or have them retrieve it themselves and
also if the process is different for international vs domestic students.
For any one who is interested, we do the following:
- *Domestic students*: Upon acceptance we send them an email to their
personal email accounts on file directing them to claim their Fordham
account from our Portal landing page using identifying information we have
on file including their SSN and then set a password.
- *International students*: Since most international students do not
have an SSN, we send them an email with their username/email already in
it including a onetime password to login from our Portal landing page and
then set a new password upon initial login.
Any feedback on your process would be greatly appreciated on or off line.
