I have only found one software title I could not deploy using SCCM, the man=
ufacturer did something very odd to their installer that we could not work =
around.

As far as updating non-Microsoft software you can though it can be a manage=
ment nightmare to do it manually. Think about all of 3rd party software you=
have in your environment then think about how often updates are released. =
Then you have to import the new updates to SCCM and remove old updates that=
no longer apply or make sure they are applied in the proper order. It can=
be one person's full time job just to do that. We are looking at incorpor=
ating either Secunia's or VMWare's patch management product to handle the 3=
rd party applications.

Right now I would love to see JAVA just go away.

Isaac

We too are interested in SCCM. Does it also deploy non-Microsoft software =
such as JAVA, Adobe products, Firefox, etc.?

Thanks.

With the newest version (2012) we are also planning to migrate from McAfee =

Hello,

We plan to implement a tool by which to distribute software to our campus. =
We are interested to know if you all are using a tool and if so which one. =
Do you like it? Pros/Cons.

Many thanks in advance.
