Hello all,
I'm looking for systems that will allow us to do a more efficient job of
print accounting for our students. Has anyone borrowed, bought or written
a system that will allow students to route printing so that is charged
correctly to their accounts or debitted from monetary credit that they
have? We need something that requires a minimal amount of interaction with
our student consultants and staff. Our environment is a mixed one of PCs
and Macs connected to Novell servers. Late generation HP Laserjets are the
printers to which we will be having students print. These are directly
connected to the network using ethernet adapters. We could possibly
implement Unix or Mac servers into the equation if that would buy us this
functionality.
Several of you that I spoke to at the ResNet conference spoke of varying
degrees of success that you are having with these kinds of systems and I
would really appreciate hearing from you.
