Google's big problem (one of them, anyway)

A big problem at Google is that while they have enormous amounts of
user interaction data available to analyze, they so frequently draw
exactly the wrong conclusions from that data, because their ability to
understand how ordinary people actually work with technology -- not just
the techies -- is perpetually hobbled by their unwillingness to bring
multidisciplinary employees into the firm. They are forever terrified
that the "emperor has no clothes" issues will be pointed out internally,
to the detriment of individual careers. And that's all even without
accounting for a CEO who apparently now will do whatever bidding fascist
Trump orders, however damaging to users that may be. -L
