More on Google's moves regarding cookies and Privacy Sandbox
I'm very glad Google is moving away from its prior "Privacy Sandbox"
model that was supposed to completely replace third-party cookies,
instead working on (among other things) better ways for users to
control these cookies.
Frankly, my view has been that trying to kill off those cookies
completely was not practical and would break significant parts of the
Web. Nor am I convinced that most relevant parties (including most
Googlers!) really understood Privacy Sandbox.
Moving in a new direction is good. If Google wants some suggestions on
this, they know how to reach me. I won't hold my breath though. -L
