i believe Tone-Loc will work with any Hayes-compatible
modem, but it scans FASTER with certain types of modems
that can identify number busy, voice answer, number not
in service, &c. that is the reason that certain USR
models are preferred - they have this feature. simply
find a modem that is able to do this and you have the
ideal modem for Tone-Loc. otherwise, just get a good
Hayes-compatible and be content with the scanner not
operating at optimum efficiency.
