That's right, it will not work if the modem hangs up for about two minutes
(delay depending on network, but two minutes should be enough for
the networks I know) before it dials back. That is because many
networks will not disconnect immidiately unless the calling side
hangs up. If only the called side hangs up, the network will wait
1-2 minutes before it disconnects. This is the nice feature that
allows you to pick up a call in the hall, say hang on a minute,
hang up, walk into the living room to sit down and pick it up, and the
call is still there.
