Following the instructions, I am introducing myself. I live in Chicago and
I am interested in individual document security. I am currently interested
in how an individuall protects their files from unwanted intrusion and I am
trying to determine if there is anything greater than password protection
and/or who has a good encryption program that is not obscenely expensive. If
anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
[Moderators note:
You might like to look into PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) or CFS
(Cryptographic File System). PGP is available for most systems (ie.
Unices, Windows, DOS, etc.) whereas CFS is only available on a few Unixes
(Sun, SGI, BSD, Ultrix, Linux). Both can be found in the
ftp://ftp.dsi.unimi.it/pub/crypt/ crypt archives.
