Hi everyone,

I thought I'd get the ball rolling on the game room bill. I don't have anyt=
hing super formal yet, but I've written something, below, that we could may=
be use at a starting point. I based it on the top-three-suggestions idea (V=
rajesh's?), and I based the suggestions roughly on what was said during the=
 Senate meeting. This can certainly be improved, however, so let's discuss.


The following represent the senators' top three suggestions for the renewal=
 of the game room space in the Student Center. Although these suggestions a=
re in order of preference, to ultimately determine the most popular suggest=
ion, the senators recommend conducting a widespread survey of the MIT stude=
nt body. Additionally, students=92 desires must be balanced with the needs =
of the Campus Activities Complex and the MITIMCo portfolio, so the senators=
 recommend a more thorough investigation of the feasibility of these sugges=
tions.

1. Food establishment with Starbucks-esque lounge

a. Food establishment suggestions: Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Tac=
o Bell, ice cream, frozen yogurt

b. Lounge: better lighting, comfortable chairs and couches, variety of tabl=
es, rugs, etc.

c. Should investigate student preferences for particular food establishment
2. Full-room lounge with vending machines

a. Study and hang-out area
b. Better lighting, comfortable chairs and couches

c. Large tables for group work

d. Vending machines

i. Snack food, coffee, sandwiches, cheaper drinks than in LaVerde=92s

e. Should investigate student preferences for vending

3. Game room (w/ vending machines?)
a. DDR

b. Old-school arcade games

c. Air hockey, foosball, ping pong, pool

d. Computer games

e. Probably room for vending machines as well (see 2d above)

f. Should investigate student preferences for games

g. Should investigate student preferences for vending


So, thoughts? Do these accurately represent your constituents' opinions? Ho=
w can we make them better? Any completely different ideas?
