Hi, everyone:
I think we should hold off a week on approving these minutes. I noticed =
some omissions (namely attendance) that I believe could be resolved by =
merging the minutes Alec Lai (candidate for Secretary General) took for =
the meeting and by simply reviewing the text of the document.
To get the ball rolling, I have taken Tim's version of the minutes and =
placed them in a LaTeX document consistent with the format of the =
minutes prepared by the former Secretary-General. With the exception of =
adding a deficient version of attendance (pulled from Alec's minutes), I =
have left the text of the minutes unchanged, and I encourage others to =
begin making the changes necessary to bring the minutes up to par. The =
LaTeX copy of the minutes is available from my public: =
http://web.mit.edu/jontec/Public/UA/Senate/minutes/UAS41/2010-4-26.pdf.
If you do not feel comfortable editing the TeX, please feel free to edit =
Tim Jenks' original .odt with your changes and send them to the =
ua-senate-minutes@mit.edu. Please remember to highlight your changes if =
your choose this method. ua-senate-minutes is a public list and anyone =
may add themselves.
For LaTeX editors:
In the same folder you will find the .tex source document. Please be =
sure to use the TeX class (minutes-vc.cls) and seal document =
(mitseal.pdf) provided in the folder when generating new PDFs. The =
change in the TeX class (from the original minutes.cls) causes the =
minutes to come from the Office of the Vice-Speaker rather than the =
Office of the Secretary-General. Would it be best to share the minutes =
in our Public and e-mail out to the minutes list when we want them to be =
reviewed? I am not taking point on this "project," only suggesting that =
it get started.
Thanks,
Jont=E9 Craighead

If anyone wants to, go for it. But IMO, they're good enough (because I =
don't want to spend any more time on this). Oh yeah, they also don't =
yet include the section on Confirmation of Ellen as new UA Treasurer, =
because I haven't gotten around to translating Adam's minutes to =
English, and then incorporating them. Which, thanks to Adam and Stum =
for helping me take them last week.
