Hi, everyone:

This is our penultimate (next to last) Senate meeting of the year, and in
addition to allocations from the Finance Board Medium Events Fund (MEF) and
another round of confirmation hearings, we will have elections for Senate
Officers.
In light of recent events, I have added the topic of "Member Value in the
UA" as a discussion item. The two key questions are (1) Do UA members feel
valued? and (2) Do members value the UA and its mission? I would ask those
intending to run for Speaker & Vice Speaker to consider these questions
carefully. If you believe the answer may be "no" to either question, I ask
that you be prepared to identify the problems and offer a set of solutions.
Addressing these questions is key to ensuring the development of a strong
and effective UA in the next year.
Lastly, the question was raised about restructuring-related history. If you
are interested in taking a look at the documents I have found most
interesting in my search through our archives, please feel free to drop by
my office hours tomorrow (Sunday) from 8:00pm-10:00pm.
