Hi everyone,

Course 12, the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, is
looking for undergrads who *are not EAPS majors* to give their opinions on
the direction of the department. EAPS has established a *Task Force* within
the department to look at the undergraduate and graduate offerings and
programs to determine how to better meet the needs of the community. In
addition to their major programs, EAPS offers several classes related to the
Energy and Astronomy minors, and will contribute significantly to the
environmental studies minor (if it is approved by the Faculty).

Consequently, *EAPS would like to know what students outside the department
need and expect from course 12 and more generally from their major
department at MIT*. They will be hosting a discussion and dinner on Monday
night, April 11, and inviting interested students to attend.
*
*
*Please RSVP* *no later than Wednesday (April 6) night*, so I can give them
an accurate head count for ordering food. There will not be a Senate meeting
on April 11, so hopefully many of you will have that window free.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in shaping the curriculum at
MIT. If this venture works out successfully, I think other departments might
be encouraged to reach out to us in a similar manner in the future.

Please let me know if you are interested as soon as possible.

Alex
