*Charge for the SLOPE Committee 2006-2011

To provide an introduction to Student Life @ MIT and develop the overall
schedule of programs and events for the Student Life components of new
student orientation, including - welcoming the students and their parents
and providing an overview of student life @ MIT; providing a process for
students to both explore and settle into their housing and residential life
experience; providing opportunities for students to learn about the fsilg
community; and, offering programs for further exploration of key components
of student life within MIT, Cambridge, and Boston.
*Specific responsibilities include:

=D8 To provide a strong foundation for students as they launch their MIT
educational experience
=D8 To design a schedule and programs focusing on the needs of the new
students
=D8 To build sequentially on the aspects of welcome and orientation that h=
ave
occurred during CPW, the summer, and during the orientation program itself
(including events such as, International Orientation, FPOPs, RBA) to enable
an ongoing successful transition to the first semester and first year at MI=
T
=D8 To provide a plan for new students to explore and be welcomed to the
residential community and to their specific housing assignment (building an=
d
room)
=D8 To provide a plan for new students to learn about the FSILG communitie=
s
and to segue into the beginning of FILG recruitment
=D8 To provide programs and events to introduce students to resources,
opportunities and key members of the student life community (housemasters,
GRTs, student leaders, student life staff)
=D8 To evaluate the programs and provide feedback for future program
development
