I think that it's pretty funny that you guys picked up our orientation
report from '06 and still found some of the material relevant. Please
let me know if I can help provide any context/perspective from that
period or if I can help with any other questions.
Yours in the UA,
Andrew Lukmann

I talked to members of EC about the 2006 Orientation report
(Tim and I split the halls, so this is just ~half the dorm).
For the most part, people agreed with the report as it
stands. The T Party specifics are obviously out of date, but
the ~equivalent Tuesday night event that currently exists
was met mostly with neutral opinions. Most people hadn't
heard of it, and those who had felt it was unhelpful but not
a terrible use of time or marginally helpful.

placement, everyone thought that it shouldn't be required
for students who place out of 8.01 or take the 8.01 ASE,
two suggestions the report presents.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Everyone I talked to had not problem with freshmen
getting info about FSILGs earlier, and some definitely
supported it. There was little concern that it would
increase Rush-like activities during REX, since people
felt that some FSILGs already recruit freshmen a lot
during REX.</div>

<div>Another unanimous agreement was that whether or not a

<div>Regarding some of the solutions presented in the report
for solving the "decision compression problem," most
people were happy with them. Some were concerned that
separating REX and Orientation events would be bad for
freshmen who like the structured nature of Orientation and
are a little overwhelmed by the REX craziness. Everyone
who commented on it said that moving freshman reg day
