Good evening, Senate:
As the 2006 UA Report on Orientation has been quoted on a number of
occasions and, as the UA presently does not have an up-to-date stance on
Orientation, I believe it would be useful for us to begin officially
reviewing the report and debating its merits as UA policy.* I am therefore
asking that you all read the 2006 UA Report on Orientation* and make a
personal list of ideas from the report that we should either (1) reaffirm i=
n
any new UA policy or (2) dispute/remove due to changing times/opinions abou=
t
orientation.
Given the gravity of this issue, I would highly encourage Senate to read th=
e
report in advance of the Senate caucus this Saturday. This will allow us
time to draft an official UA position on Orientation (and the proposed
changes) that can be approved at 42 UAS 10 next Monday. Your constituents
are an integral part of this process, and after reading the report, I
encourage you to discuss the content with them.
With this said, there is no legislation on Orientation for tomorrow's
meeting, and I have updated the agenda accordingly. Furthermore, the
Committee on FinBoard Policy will only present a draft revision of bylaws
for FinBoard rather than amendments to UA Governing Documents (which will
come at 42 UAS 10).

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Jont=E9 Craighead
