Hi Finboard and others,
As you may recall, this Wednesday the FPRC will be meeting to
discuss Finboard, starting at 8PM in the UA office. I figured I'd
explicitly solicit your input.

I've included some questions to spark your thinking below, but you
should feel free to give whatever input you'd like. (The email is really
long. You should feel free to just give your thoughts without reading it.)

If you won't be at the meeting, please send any feedback by 5PM on
Wednesday so I can compile it in advance. Feedback should be sent to
ua-fprc-chairs@mit.edu (if private; goes only to myself and the UA
president and vice-president) or ua-fprc@mit.edu (note that ua-fprc is
publicly archived).

Do you notice holes in the current Finboard composition? Are there
aspects of the current Finboard's composition that you think are a
really good idea?

When you applied for Finboard (or looked at applications for Finboard),
did you feel that some questions were particularly useful or useless?
Are there additional questions that should be asked?

What parts of your experience have proved particularly useful? What have
you felt you lacked? What seemed like it could be useful, but actually
wasn't?

Does Finboard need to be kept insulated from the vagaries of Senate? Is
Finboard overly insular, needing to be drawn in closer? Should other
people automatically serve, beyond the UA and ASA treasurers? Should the
ASA representative always be an undergrad?

> * Notification requirements / role of Senate or Treasurer for oversight

How much notice should Senate receive of allocations and nominees for
membership? What details should it get?

Currently, for most committees, the UA president and vice-president
receive almost all relevant mail. Should that be true with Finboard as
well? Should the UA treasurer take on some of this oversight role?

Are any of our policies outdated? (Do we have a single document
outlining all our policies?)

> * Role of UA Treasurer

Does the UA treasurer have a leadership or oversight role to play? Is
the UA treasurer just there to spread information and make it more
likely Senate and Exec will understand Finboard? In short, why do I
serve on the committee at all?
