10 minutes before it's start, I decided to attend the meeting today for the
UA Senate.
*What impelled me to do such a terribly despicably horribly horrendously
contemptible thing?*
I wanted to.
I have projects that I want to see become more than ideas, and I think the
senate, and by extension the exec, will facilitate these projects. The UA
has already been a helpful source of information and will hopefully soon be
a critical arena for action.
A few people expressed that working through the Senate was not how
*they*would solve these problems. They would do it without the help
of the UA.
They are independent and strong. But I'm not them; I'm me.
*Representation*
If you want your voices to be heard in the Senate, I'm here to echo your
thoughts; regardless of their content. Want a petting zoo in Lobby 7 on
Tuesdays and Fridays? I'm your man.
The UA is currently discussing what will become of the lounge on the first
floor of the student center between LaVerdes and the credit union.
Some ideas were:
- improve the current lounge
- starbucks
- late night ice cream place
- froyo
- chic-fil-a
- arcade
The next topic to discuss is Athena printing. Any thoughts, let me know.
*My Goals and Projects*
I want to redefine what early arrival is. I want to push back the date of
arrival by two days. This means no form to fill out and no locked doors
upon arrival. You can come back slightly earlier with a little more time to
settle in, paint, build, dilly dally, whatever.
I also want to improve accessibility to campus shops. I think waiting 4
months to take a shop class at Edgerton sucks ass. I'll also work to get
welders in campus shops that are accessible to students. I had welders at
my high school, damnit, this is a university of engineers.
My other concerns are senate efficiency and representation in
administration.
*Food*
**I'll be submitting a small budget to the senate in a few days to get some
pizzas and drinks or something delivered to Bexley, hoping for some feedback
on either my role as senator, or stuff you'd like to see done.
Don't want pizza? Want something else (meat for a BBQ, chinese, sandwiches,
w/e)?
*Impeachment*
If you really feel strongly about me not representing you, which means you
really *do* care <3, I am impeachable! Hurray!
