Hi guys,

In such a situation, I feel that it would be easy to get a 2/3 ma=
jority to suspend the bylaws, thus bypassing the time limit.

Hey,

I like the goal of these bills. However, I will ask senate to consider a b=
ill that has some flexibility with regard to length of Senate. I am all fo=
r creating short meetings, but there are times when extensive business need=
s to get done. A prime example is at the end of the year when the Presiden=
t nominates his new staff. Given the timings and number of people, the mee=
tings will have to extend beyond an hour and a half.

I would increase the base length of senate to 2 hours and add in a clause t=
hat allows meetings to go longer with a simple majority vote. (these thing=
s can be added to the bill on the Senate floor tonight, we do not need a wh=
ole new bill)
