The perl5 locker has been upgraded to Perl version 5.8.4.
This is will not affect people using /usr/athena/bin/perl,
but will affect those whose scripts start with
#!/afs/athena/contrib/perl5/p
One feature that perl5 locker perl provides is add-on modules
not present in stock Athena perl. The perl5 locker currently
provides libwww, Curses, and Tk. On platforms that support
Gnome2, the Glib and Gtk2 modules have also been installed.
The old perl can still be run as /mit/perl5/bin/perl5.6.0 .
