I've installed LyX 1.2.3 for Sun and Linux in a new locker. LyX is a
structured document authoring application, using Tex and LaTeX to
produce output. To run it:

	add lyx
	lyx &

It comes with an internal help system and manual, with examples and
tutorials. On initial launch, it will create a directory .lyx in your
home directory with a relatively small number of configuration files
that can be customized.

I know that a slightly newer LyX version has already been installed in
the outland locker- however the Linux version there is currently
broken, and outland locker maintainers don't guarantee support for
software installed there. If you've already used the outland version,
it's probably a good idea to delete your ~/.lyx directory, and let LyX
rebuild it for you when you launch the version in the lyx locker. Note
that this will delete any customizations you may have made.
