I've update the Applixware Office Suite on Athena to Anyware 2.2 (the product
has been renamed Anyware and the numbering has changed- this is the new Anyware
version number). From my message to users:

An updated Applixware/Anyware release has been installed on Athena for
Sun and Linux- Applix calls this Anyware 2.2; they are dropping the
old Applixware numbering, which had reached 5.0.0 and are switching
over to Anyware numbering, now at 2.2 (the older Applixware 5.0.0 was
also called Anyware 2.0). The look-and-feel is very similar to the
Applixware 5.0.0/Anyware 2.0 release.

To run it now, type:

	add applix
	applix -ver 2.2an &

at the Athena prompt. For this release, user local configuration files
are stored in a directory axhome/2.2an in your home directory. New feature
information and tutorials can be accessed through the online help system-
there are release notes at :
http://web.mit.edu/applix_v2.2an/distrib/share/Demos/Relnotes_Office.html

There are online pdf manuals that are accessible via an internal xpdf viewer;
however they look much better if you view them directly with acroread. They
are located in the /mit/applix_v2.2an/distrib/$ATHENA_SYS/axdata/eng
directory- if you use Netscape, you will need to use a URL like

https://web.mit.edu/applix_v2.2an/distrib/sun4x_58/axdata/eng/wordstechref.pdf
and have an MIT certificate to get access.

Due to the prior version timing out, we plan to switch the default to this
version and delete the prior 2.0 one within a week of the date of this message.

Please send questions/comments to the 3partysw@mit.edu mailing list.
