I've updated FWTools on Athena to 3.1. FWTools are a collection of
utilities for dealing with GIS image data and an image viewer, OpenEV.

The FWTools set of command-line geodata utilities on Athena has been
updated to 3.1.0 and this release has been made the default. The
OpenEV viewer has been dropped from the tool set and because of this,
the last OpenEV version released with FWTools (in release 1.1.2) will
continue to be available.
A significant number of utilities in the prior release have been dropped
and others have been added; to see which are currently available, look
in the
/afs/athena.mit.edu/software/fwtools_v3.1.0/FWTools-linux-x86_64-3.1.0/bin_safe
directory; man pages for many of these are in the
/afs/athena.mit.edu/software/fwtools_v3.1.0/FWTools-linux-x86_64-3.1.0/usr/share
/man
directory. To run the utilities:
add -f fwtools
<utility> <options> <files> (to use one of the utilities)
openev (to use the OpenEV viewer)
where <utility> is the name of the utility. See man pages or other
documentation for usage details.
