FrameMaker 6.0.0, a major new release of the document authoring
application, is now available. The most noteworthy new feature is the
addition of an add-on product, WebWorks Publisher, which is a
sophisticated application that converts FrameMaker documents to html and xml.
This version may become the Athena default for the Fall semester, but
this is uncertain due to limited testing time. The recommended way to
run it now is:
add frame
maker -ver 6.0.0
For general information, see Help -> Getting Started in the help
system.
Online manuals in pdf format are in the
/mit/frame_v6.0.0/distrib/sun4x_56/fminit/usenglish/OnlineManuals
directory, and for WebWorks Publisher:

New features in release 6.0.0 are highlighted at

Unfortunately this is Sun-only. SGI has been dropped, and Adobe is not ready
for Linux yet.
