I've installed the latest set of Sun compilers and Workshop tools
on Athena in the sunsoft_v6.1 locker (the number is a bit confusing
as I've been using the number.volume of the CD, not the versions of
the individual components, which vary but are mostly 5.0 now).

In order to use all components from this new locker, do "add -f sunsoft_v6.1"
first. What's available:

cc, CC, f77, f90, workshop (integrated development environment), visu
(visual development environment) and assorted utilities. Release notes
for most pieces can be found by using the "-xhelp=readme" command-line option.
There is also a good deal of online documentation.

The answerbook documentation isn't configured because we don't have a
local answerbook server (that I know of), but I think everything is
also available in html form. Printing from the help system may not
work in all cases. Non-cc dynamic linking contines to be problematic
(as before)- some words about this are in file
/mit/sunsoft_v6.1/README.dynamic_linking.

These may become the Athena default by the end of IAP but I'm not sure
of this yet.
