I've updated the Applixware office suite on Athena to 6.0. To run it:
add applix
applix
From my message to users:
Applixware 6 has been installed and made the Athena default. This is a
significant update as the last release we received is over 4 years old.
The online help has a section about release notes and new features.
The overall functionality should be similar to the prior
version. Files created in earlier releases should be forward compatible
to the new version. User's local configuration files are stored below
~/axhome/6.0 in your home directory. Applix has reverted to calling
the product Applixware, and resumed the former numbering system (hence
the big jump from 2.2 to 6.0).
To run the prior 2.2 release now, type:
add applix
applix -ver 2.2an
We'll keep it around for a while but it will eventually go away, probably
by the end of Summer.
