I've updated Scilab on Athena to version 4.0 and made it the default. Scilab
is a free matrix-based numeric computational engineering application that
is similar to Matlab but not an exact clone of it. To run it, type:
add scilab
scilab
at the Athena prompt. From my message to users:
Scilab on Athena has been updated to release 4.0 which has been made
the default version. Information about new features is at
http://web.mit.edu/scilab_v4.0/share/doc/scilab-4.0/CHANGES
The prior 3.1.1 release will be available for a limited time, and can be
run by doing:
add scilab
scilab -ver 3.1.1
