I've updated molden on Athena to release 4.3. molden is a molecular chemistry
application for displaying molecular density and molecular models from various
ab-initio packages including gaussian, also on Athena. It can output 3d image
description files in various formats including VRML1, VRML2 and POV-Ray.
From my message to users:
Molden has been updated to release 4.3. Several variants are now included:
molden (molden base version)
gmolden (molden with Open GL support)
mpfit.molden (molden with mpfit support)
To run any of these now, launch the desired version with a "-ver 4.3" switch,
i.e.:
add molden
gmolden -ver 4.3 [options] [file]
There is online help, in file /mit/molden_v4.3/doc/manual.ps. We expect
to make this version the default after the end of the current semester.
We now recommend using povray in the povray locker to render povray output
files (povray had previously been added to the molden locker). ivview and
freewrl can be used to view VRML1 and VRML2 output, respectively.
