Quake has been upgraded in outland to v1.01. It only exists for the Linux
platform right now. READMEs in the /mit/outland/arch/i386_linux1/lib/quake
directory should answer all technical questions. It supposedly can act as a
dedicated server for DOS quake clients, but I haven't seen this in
action. Also, multiplayer is vastly easier to set up than it was in
qtest1. Random utilities are in the lib/quake/utils directory. Add games or
outland, type "xquake" and watch it go.

Maelstrom, an Asteroids-ish game, has been installed in the games
locker. It exists for the SGI and Linux systems. Netplay works well; I
found the patch for the "negative two billion bonus" bug others might have
seen. Also, the "zap high scores" option has been disabled. If netplay is
getting boring with only three lives, the "L" key at the main menu lets you
increase this number. Source code is in /mit/games/src/X/Maelstrom. Pixel
doubling is activated by the "-big" option as the first parameter. Try
"-big -fullscreen" to turn any SGI into an arcade machine. A Sun port is
reportedly coming soon.

Bug reports on these two should go to me and bug-outland or bug-games
respectively.
